On September 10–11, 2026, Counsellor Bai Hailong and Third Secretary Feng Xiongli of the Chinese Embassy attended the 2026 Kiribati Development Partners Forum hosted by the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development of Kiribati on Christmas Island.

During the forum, Counsellor Bai and his delegation listened to Kiribati’s briefing on its key flagship projects and future development plans, conducted in-depth bilateral exchanges with relevant Kiribati authorities, and gained a thorough understanding of the country’s core concerns and development needs.

On the sidelines of the event, the delegation conducted field visits to China-aided projects including the clinic and maneaba, as well as Chinese-invested enterprises on the island, and carried out a comprehensive inspection of local infrastructure development.
