On November 19, 2025, a ceremony was held at the Chinese Embassy to award medals to the 4th Chinese Medical Team in Kiribati by the Kiribati Ministry of Health and Medical Services. Hon. Minister Bootii Nauan presented the Health Medal to all members of the Chinese Medical Team. H.E. Ambassador Zhou Limin attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.

H.E. Ambassador Zhou spoke highly of the work carried out by the 4th Chinese Medical Team. He noted that since their arrival, the team had overcome various challenges and quickly immersed themselves in their work. With their exceptional medical skills and noble professionalism, they wholeheartedly served the local people and overseas Chinese, earning high praise from all sectors of society.

In his speech, Hon. Minister Bootii Nauan reviewed the medical service carried out by the Chinese Medical Team over the past year at the Tungaru Central Hospital, as well as in various communities and outer islands. On behalf of the Kiribati government and people, he expressed his sincerest gratitude and highest respect to the 4th Chinese Medical Team.

After the award ceremony, representatives from China and Kiribati engaged in a warm and friendly exchange.
